What we got out of it.

As a casual user of social media interacting with friends and family, I had never considered how to use it strategically to raise the profile of our charity so it was great to learn the simple things I can do every day to make a difference and grow our online profile. I feel much more prepared to use social media to promote our charity

Ben’s work on our website was amazing and he really took the time to understand what we are about and translate that into great content that we can now maintain ourselves due to Ben’s input.

What it was like to work with Ben

I have worked with Ben quite a bit over the months and have been impressed with his ability to work with diverse groups from Company Directors to part time volunteers. He communicated in a simple, effective way, was able to answer basic questions as well as handle some very technical questions. He also demonstrated a good knowledge of how to work with neuro-diversity, which is very refreshing.

First of all, I must point out that Ben is clearly incredibly dedicated to his work and to ensuring he provides the highest standards for the clients he works with. This is something I have personally noted, witnessing Ben researching to find out as much information both from us and external sources in order to understand not the just the immediate needs of our organisation, but where we hope to be in the future.

He also took on the challenge of a rebrand part way through working with us and went to great lengths to help us understand the benefits of this for us as a team, as well as our supporters – guiding us through each stage and implementing smoother ways of working that shall enable us to continue to grow.

Ben has worked alongside the whole team (Grace, who deals with our social media accounts, Kelly our Fundraiser Extraordinaire, Sylva who oversees us and myself who deals with the back office/website/admin for the rescue).

There has not been one area that we have not benefitted from his advice and expertise – our posts on social media have absolutely been performing much more effectively, we have had enquiries directly through our website off the back of these posts, but are also finding engagement on our socials via comments etc has improved. 

Our website is now much clearer and easier to navigate. Not only for our supporters, with simple online forms for example, but also for me personally from a back-office perspective, as we now have the benefit (and knowledge) of a CRM built into our site, making keeping on track much easier. 

The way the site has been set up allows us to change information promptly when required (such as an animal going from foster to adoption) but also enable supporters to then continue to follow the stories of the animals we are helping and engage along that journey too.

Overall – a fantastic job well done. We would absolutely recommend Ben to anyone looking for a Media Consultant.
